canvas commission

A figure painted for you. In the language of this practice. One of one.

  • A canvas commission from Iha • Ina Studio is not a portrait service. It is an original painting — acrylic, mixed media on italian linen, built on the same resin ground and burgundy base as the Loob/Within series, with your figure painted in the archetype colour that belongs to you.

You are not commissioning a likeness, you are commissioning a figure held the way the archetypes are held — with care, with weight, with the full story of who she is underneath what she performs.

Before the painting begins — before the burgundy, before the figure, before anything — something meaningful about the woman in the photograph is pressed into the wet resin sand ground. A word, a name, a line from our conversation. Something only you will know is there, permanent, underneath everything. This does not exist in the series. It only exists here.

  • Every woman I paint belongs to one of four archetypes. You already know which one you are. You have always known.

She is the one who held everything together without being asked. Or the one who was told she was too much. Or the one who showed love through action because nobody showed her how to say it out loud. Or the one whose warmth skipped a generation and left a question nobody ever asked.

The archetypes, the colours, the full visual world of the series — these are still being revealed. The commissions waitlist open before the full reveal, so when that moment comes, you’re already inside it.

  • The women in this practice are always painted with brown skin. This is a reclamation, not a style choice. The figures have always been about the interior — the loob, what is carried, what is performed, what is softened. That is not a Filipino-only experience. The Ate is everywhere. The Ina is everywhere. The colour is the bridge between her story and the lineage this practice comes from.

A collector of any background who commissions a figure is entering a world on its terms. If that is something you can receive with openness — welcome.

  • Join the waitlist. When a spot opens i’ll reach out and we’ll have one conversation — about which archetype she is carrying, the photograph, and what you’d like pressed into the ground beneath her. Then the painting begins.

Two to three commissions are open at any time. The Loob/Within Series comes first. Always.

Everything you need to know — the full process, terms and conditions — I will personally reach out to you once you’ve joined the waitlist.
